I tagged along with the hubby to Mississippi on Veterans Day week. We like to break up the trip and stay in Meridian at Three foot Hotel and eat at Weidmann’s.

We made our way to Jackson. We really enjoyed our stay at The Refuge. It was too cold to enjoy the beautiful pool but I enjoyed a facial at the spa and the fitness room is better than your average hotel. I was not too impressed with the food but the hospitality was superb! There is a picturesque rooftop bar and of course the golf course is well known.

The best meal in Jackson was at the Crooked Letter and a very close second, A’ha Donuts & more.

On Veterans Day, Todd had work in Vicksburg. I had never been so I left the Refuge to explore. I am so glad that I did. The government was shut down at the time, so the Friends of Vicksburg volunteered at the Vicksburg National Military Park. My favorite site was the U.S.S. Cairo, a gunboat that was retrieved from the Yazoo River 100 years after it sunk during the Civil War. But, there is so much to see!

After picking up Todd, we had a yummy lunch at Main Street Market Cafe. My goal is always to find the locals favorite and this is it!
